NeighbourWood Communities is a climate infrastructure platform — not just a housing developer. We build net-zero homes on dedicated residential sites and permanently restore native woodland through our Nature Endowment. The 10:1 Model links them: every 10 homes fund one hectare of permanent native woodland.

Our Personal Commitment
Anderson family on the rainy trail (minus two older kids).
Neal and Esther are purchasing a 4-bedroom home in the pilot at full market rate and will be living in the community with their family. They have relocated from the United States to Ireland (March 2026) and have deployed €250k+ in personal capital across STEP visa, international relocation, and the down payment on their own home in the community.
No investor is asked to take a risk the founders aren't taking themselves.
What We Stand For
We built NeighbourWood around six convictions — not strategies, not slogans, but the personal beliefs that guide every decision we make.
Housing is a human right
Our co-founder Esther spent years on affordable housing waiting lists that never came through. We're building a model where environmental revenue funds affordability — because if we can't eventually deliver homes for everyone, we've failed.

We're purchasing a home in our first community at full market price and raising our family there. Every design decision is tested against one question: Would this be good enough for our own kids?
The land is a relationship, not a resource
The ancient trees at Fairymount Farms and Powerscourt Estate didn't just inspire a business plan — they called us to Ireland. Our woodlands are Nature Endowments held forever by an independent trust. The covenant is permanent because the commitment is permanent.

We're Americans in Ireland, learning as much as we teach. We hire Irish, use Irish suppliers, and hold our model loosely enough to adapt to what Ireland actually needs. When the model and the place are in tension, the place wins.
